Furusato Nozei (Hometown Tax Donation)
What is a hometown tax donation?
A hometown tax donation is a "donation" given to prefectures or municipalities. In principle, the total donated amount becomes the deductible target of income tax and individual residence tax, except for an out-of-pocket amount of 2,000 yen.
This allows donators to continuously support APU without spending a substantial amount of money.
"Yu no Machi Beppu Furusato support donation (Collaboration project between Beppu City and the university)"
Beppu City is accepting applications for the "Yu no Machi Beppu Furusato Support Donation (Collaboration between Beppu City and universities)" using the hometown tax donation system (furusato nozei). People who are originally from Beppu City and those who are not are able to use donations to deduct a portion of their income tax and residence tax currently being paid. Beppu City residents are now also able to donate. 80% of the amount donated is given to APU as support funds (grants).
Fully deductible amount of donation
Please confirm the fully deductible amount of donation as there is a fixed upper limit depending on the income and family structure, etc.

- 【Examples of Past Activities】 Support for APU Multicultural Weeks
Multicultural Week is APU's flagship event that allows students to experience a full week of culture, including music, costumes, sports, dances and languages from a variety of countries and regions.
All Multicultural Week events are planned and organized by students, and through the day-to-day management of these events, students hone the skills they will need in society.
Through these events, many international and domestic students interact with each other regardless of their country or region of origin.
These events are open to the general public and provide an opportunity for the local community to experience the culture of different countries.
