【Supported project】Students' Action Support
My academic interest lies in how digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) can be applied in healthcare settings. In particular, I am interested in how these technologies can be used responsibly in regional and public healthcare systems, especially in aging societies. While AI has the potential to support decision-making, reduce inefficiencies, and improve access to healthcare, I believe it is essential that such technologies are implemented in ways that are socially and ethically acceptable.
I participated in an international sustainability-focused project jointly conducted by Japan and Germany. As part of this project, I traveled to Trier University of Applied Sciences in Germany, where I worked together with local students and faculty members on collaborative activities. Through this experience, I learned how local communities and public authorities address social challenges and how sustainable systems are designed and managed in practice. Serving as a group leader, I examined local policies and initiatives and discussed with team members from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds how new ideas and technologies could be incorporated into existing public systems. Workshops and on-site activities also provided valuable insights into how local governments use data, coordinate with stakeholders, and develop long-term plans.
Through this experience, I realized that addressing social challenges requires more than technology alone. Cooperation among people, well-designed systems, and long-term planning are all essential. The lessons I gained from this international collaborative project will inform my future studies and work related to healthcare and AI. I plan to pursue graduate studies in the future and further explore policies that address the challenges of aging societies and regional healthcare systems.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the support that made my participation in this project possible.
