My dream is to pursue a career in diplomacy, working my way up to eventually serve as a senior diplomat or ambassador for my country. I hope that one day my post will bring me to Tokyo, because after visiting this past summer, I completely fell in love with the city. I could truly imagine myself living there and helping strengthen the relationship between Japan and South Africa.

After completing my Japanese language courses, I plan to take part in a student exchange program, hopefully to the UK or Mexico. I am also eager to contribute on campus by becoming either an MCW Student Assistant or an English Teaching Assistant which wouldn’t be too far off from the tutor jobs I had back in high school.

I have continued my debate journey and currently serve as the Vice President of the APU Debate Club. I have been fortunate to form amazing friendships here that make every day feel lively and rewarding. My overall impression of life in Japan has been incredibly positive, I love the country, and I have been pleasantly surprised by how welcomed I have felt since my arrival.
