- ○ What led you to give to APU?
-
My name is Xu Jiajun (Eddy), a 2016 graduate.
I came to Japan from China in 2011 to study Japanese and was fortunate enough to enroll at APU. My experience there changed my life and broadened my horizons through meeting multinational friends and being exposed to diverse values. In addition, I was able to expand my possibilities thanks to the kind teachers who guided me.Now that I am a working adult, the experiences I gained at APU are still of great use to me. The skills I acquired through the projects and extracurricular activities I was involved in as a student are now being used in the real world to solve problems and communicate with different cultures.
The APU Alumni Association launched the Support Change Makers Fund with the aim of “support[ing] current students to become change makers who change the world.” I share this philosophy and would like to support the students as a way of returning the favor. I decided to make this donation so that APU students, who are the future of the university, can have the opportunity to learn and grow in a more fulfilling way, even if it is a small contribution. I hope that many students who will change the world will be born in the future.
- ○ Do you have anything you would like to say to the students of APU?
-
APU offers a global environment and many learning opportunities not available at other universities. Students are given many opportunities, but it is up to each of us to act to make the most of them. If you don't act, you will miss out on these great opportunities.
“Change Maker” may sound like a big phrase, but the important thing is to keep challenging yourself, even if it is just a little at a time. By moving forward one step at a time, you will eventually be able to make a big change. Believe in your potential and please keep challenging yourself. We are rooting for you!
