Q1. Please tell us what activities were prepared in the program. What did you learn from those activities?
In this program, we mainly studied Thai at Chiang Mai University, and also had activities such as interact with elephants, cooking class of Thai food, experience the Thai/Chiang Mai culture. In Thai class, we tried Thai sweets and learn about the way of thinking of Thai people. In addition, we visited many temples with students at Chiang Mai University, and it was fun I could have a glimpse of the relationship between Buddhism and Thai people.
Q2. How do you want to make use of the skills and experiences from the program to your future?
Not to speak of improving my Thai language skill, I want to actually use it, and I’m also thinking to participate in Thai Week at APU. I want to get a job that is based in South East Asia / East Asia which include Thailand. In order to make use this experience into my future job, I will study the culture even more, and keep going forward.
Q3.Please give a message to future participants.
I recommend this program not only to those who are interested in Thailand or who want to study/are studying Thai, but I also to those who want to discover a new side of yourself. You can learn about Thailand through learning their food culture, religion and from many other aspects. You can also communicate with local people, so you can satisfy both, learning and experience of Thailand. Prices in Thailand are cheaper than Japan, so it is easier to try things. I hope you guys participate in this program and have a rewarding experience.
