1. Reason Why You Decided to Apply

I wanted to take on a new challenge in an unknown world, broaden my horizons, and improve my skills, so that I could grow more as a person. Also, I wanted to improve my abilities to take the initiative, work in a team, and adapt to new environments, so that I could become someone capable of thinking on their feet. Finally, I wanted to personally experience the culture of another country and use language to talk with the locals. Going on an adventure like the Second Program on my very first time overseas was scary, and I felt anxious, but upon reflection, this was the experience that had the largest positive impact on me during my university life.

2. How the Program Helped You Grow

I gained a lot of different skills and abilities, but I improved my problem-solving skills, my willingness to take on new challenges, and my assertiveness, in particular. On this program, a lot of unpredictable events take place. My confidence grew because, even though I wasn’t used to the new environment, I didn’t ignore the problems in front of me, but faced them head-on, and actively worked towards solutions. The skills and experiences I gained, as well as the failures I experienced, all fed my soul and continue to uplift me. Through this program, I realized how fun it is to take on new challenges. From now on, I want to have the confidence and the bravery to face any challenge to the best of my ability.

3. Message for Students Interested in The Program

On this program, you do research surveys in Southeast Asia, and many kinds of people participate. For example, people who feel like they’re stuck and can’t move forward, people who want to make their own community known throughout the world, people who want to be in a new environment, and people who want to improve their skills through a new challenge. Whether or not you’ll find this program meaningful depends on you. If you participate actively and give it your all, it will be a valuable experience, and it should help you grow in the future. Participate to open up new possibilities for yourself and raise your confidence!
