Reason Why You Decided to Apply
I decided to take on this program because of limited English skills and to clarify my own career vision.
I felt that I would be able to confirm how I could achieve what I have valued since my childhood, "making people excited," in the future through strengthening my language skills and interacting with people with diverse career perspectives through internships and other opportunities.
I realized that this program would provide opportunities to confirm these through strengthening my language skills and interacting with people with diverse career perspectives through internships and other opportunities and applied it.
How the Program Helped You Grow
I feel that I have grown so much that I have no regrets about going to the US. Although I went to the U.S. when I was a 3rd year student, I was able to prepare myself well for after returning home by conducting online job searches, and also by conducting career interviews with colleagues at my internship site, among other efforts of my own.
Through these experiences and the wide-ranging interactions I had in English classes, my English skills improved dramatically. Thanks to this English ability, I was able to get the opportunity to go back to the U.S. and participate in a one-year internship as a cultural representative of Japan! This program will definitely be a valuable experience that will lead you to your next challenge!
Message for Students Interested in the Program
I feel that I was a "frog in the well" who had never been abroad until I joined the Service Learning Program. I had a very narrow perspective before I joined this program. I had unconsciously put a "domestic" limit on my future career and my English skills.
This program is sure to be a valuable opportunity for those of you who are interested in the outside world. I support you as you take your first steps forward, while also cherishing your feelings and experiences at APU!
