On Wednesday, September 15, 2010, an orientation session was held for new exchange and study abroad students preparing to begin their studies at APU this autumn. Following a welcome speech from the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Professor ARII, students were offered information about studying at APU, living in Japan, and also a campus tour.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2010, a number of students took the opportunity to wear a Japanese "Yukata" and try their hand at "Yukata" fitting with their student-buddies. Although tying off the "Obi" belt correctly proved a challenge for the exchange students, they did enjoy taking photos of each other in the Japanese attire in what proved to be a great opportunity to experience Japanese culture. A Japanese flower arranging class is also scheduled for Wednesday, December 1.

There were 18 different countries and regions including Japan represented by the students, with 43 of the exchange students coming from 29 of APU's partner universities and 8 study abroad students making a total of 51 students welcomed to APU for a semester or year starting this autumn. Including the exchange students who came last year who are still on campus, this brings the total to 61 students from 19 different countries and regions (51 exchange students from 33 partner universities and 10 study abroad students).

We wish all the very best to our new exchange and study abroad students and hope that they enjoy their time in Japan and APU.
