May 30, 2012
On Monday, May 14, 2012, Mr. HAYASHI Yasuo, Special Advisor to the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), visited APU and met with a group of APU students.
Four students from Japan, Korea and the Philippines attended the discussion during which they each introduced themselves and spoke about their goals for the future. Drawing on his professional experiences, Special Advisor HAYASHI offered his advice to each student and also a few words of encouragement: “As globalisation continues, we will see enormous changes in society, business, and the way that people work. It is important that you keep refining your skills and have a clear understanding of what these changes will mean for you”.
Special Advisor HAYASHI became a member of the Advisory Committee (AC*) in May 2007 with his appointment as the Chairman of JETRO, and has played an important role in the development of the education and research at APU. APU continues to receive the generous support of leaders from the business, academic, and administrative communities, including Special Advisor HAYASHI, as we strive to develop outstanding graduates with the skills and talents to become the next generation leaders of international society.
*The Advisory Committee (AC)
Established before the university first opened, the Advisory Committee was set up to provide multifaceted support to the University. Members include former heads of state, ambassadors, and leading figures in the Japanese business and economic circles. The Committee continues to support the further development and enrichment of study and research at APU.
