ANDO Momofuku Prize Recipients Visit Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd

On February 20, 2006, 6 APU students who were recipients of the ANDO Momofuku Scholarship and 2 who received the ANDO Momofuku Honor Prize visited Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd to extend their appreciation to the founder of the Awards, Mr. ANDO Momofuku (Honorary Doctor).

During the visit, the students asked what the trigger was for the development of the "Anniversary of the Instant Noodle Invention." After cooking instant noodles, the students expressed their thanks to Dr. ANDO Momofuku at Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd. Ms. SHRESTHA, Pretty from Nepal commented that she is honored to be a scholarship recipient, and in the future hopes to establish a bank which supports the business ventures of both Nepal and Japan. The ANDO Momofuku Honor Prize is a scholarship which was established through the courtesy of Honorary Doctor, Mr. ANDO Momofuku - the founder of Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd. The scholarship aims to support undergraduate students who are scheduled to graduate and who have a strong desire to contribute to the Asia Pacific Regions in their future careers. Every year 1 or 2 students are awarded this scholarship.

The ANDO Momofuku Scholarship was also established through the courtesy of Dr. ANDO Momofuku. It aims to support students with high academic merit, insightful personalities and who have participated extensively in extracurricular activities and have displayed strong leadership qualities. Every year, 1-4 students from 2nd and 3rd year levels are awarded the scholarships.
