Chinese Week Starts at APU!

Jul 2, 2007

Chinese Week commenced at APU on Monday, July 2. Throughout Chinese Week traditional Chinese food will be available for purchase at the university cafeteria. Everyone will be able to enjoy the rich culture of China right here on campus!

On Monday, Chinese students demonstrated the art of Chinese calligraphy in the APU cafeteria, and some lucky diners were presented with celebratory messages written in Chinese characters.

Since the 2006 academic year, Chinese language proficiency tests have been conducted at APU and a ceremony for the founding of the Confucius Institute at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University was held in April of this year. Cultural initiatives such as these are proof that interest in China is growing.
