On June 19, the Ritsumeikan Center for Asia Pacific Studies (RCAPS) of the APU Research Office will host a “RCAPS Onigiri Seminar” organized by APU-APS Associate Professor Bui, Thanh Huong. At the seminar, Lew, Alan, a Professor of Northern Arizona University, will give a special talk entitled “Time and Space in Tourism and Community Disaster Resilience.” A Writing Workshop titled “Publishing in High Impact International Journals: An Editor's Perspective” will also be held following the Seminar.

On June 7, the Ritsumeikan Center for Asia Pacific Studies (RCAPS) of the APU Research Office will host a “RCAPS Onigiri Seminar” organized by APU-APM Assistant Professor Fan, Pengda. At the seminar, Uchida, Konari, a Professor of Kyushu University, will give a special talk entitled “Empirical research on corporate governance: Culture and organizational characteristics -Power of tournament incentives: Evidence from Japanese corporate boards.”

On June 6, the Ritsumeikan Center for Asia Pacific Studies (RCAPS) of the APU Research Office will host a “RCAPS Onigiri Seminar” organized by APU-APS Professor Yamagata, Tatsufumi. This seminar is conducted by both Professor Kim Taegi of Chonnam National University and Professor Kim Sangho of APU-APS. The titles are “Investment and Adjustment Costs of Korean Firms in view of Tobin's q” by Prof. Kim, Taegi and “Dynamic Factor Adjustment and Corporate Tax Reduction in the Japanese Manufacturing Industry” by Prof. Kim, Sangho.

On Wednesday, May 22, the Ritsumeikan Center for Asia Pacific Studies (RCAPS) of the APU Research Office will host a “RCAPS Onigiri Seminar” organized by APU-APS Professor SATO, Yoichiro. At the seminar, Kuniko Ashizawa, who is an Adjunct Professor of American University, will give a special talk entitled “Japan’s Quest for Region-Building in Central Asia: The Curious Case of the ‘New Great Game’ Engagement”.

Hanes, a director, Center for Asia Pacific Studies, University of Oregon, USA, will give a special talk entitled “Welcome to Washington Heights: America Towns and Americanization in Occupied Japan”
