The OVOP Movement and Rural Entrepreneurs in Southeast

On Tuesday, March 15, "the OVOP Movement and Rural Entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia Workshop" will be held in the RCAPS Conference Room(B Building, 2F) at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. The event will be co-hosted by RCAPS. This workshop is open for anyone. We strongly encourage anyone interested to attend.
*Outline of the Workshop The OVOP Movement has been widely spread and adopted in Asia as a regional development model to solve the regional income gap and revitalize the rural community through promotion of local based products and services. Under the Movement, many new rural entrepreneurs are emerging in the local community in Asia, particularly in Southeast Asia. Focusing on this, the OVOP Research Group of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University is now conducting research on the development of rural entrepreneurs in rural Asia in collaboration with the various academics and researchers in Southeast Asia under the JSPS Research Fund. The research began in 2009 and is expected to be complete in March 2012. In the middle of this year, we will plan a small workshop in order to review the study results to further deepen the exchange of information and discuss the relevant topics among participants. The major topics of the Workshop is follows: (1)Significance of OVOP Movement in Asia and Japan (2)Review the OVOP Movement and Policy in Southeast Asia.
