RCAPS Seminar - “U.S.-Japan Economic Cooperation and Countering Coercion in the Indo-Pacific”

On January 10th, RCAPS held a seminar welcoming Ms. Shihoko Goto and Mr. Lucas Myers from the Wilson Center, Asia Program.

Held in the form of an over-the-table discussion session, the participations in this event were exposed to the ongoing debates in the policy circle of Washington on the U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy.
Participants were able to gain a deeper understanding of the threat of economic coercion in the Indo-Pacific and seek opportunities to enhance regional support for a common economic security agenda based on trust.
The discussion also looked at developing policy options for Japan and the U.S. to cooperate in building a trust-based order to counter economic coercion.
