The choice of management practices depends upon both /what/ is managed as well as upon /who/ is managed. As China modernizes, foreign management practices are being adopted. This talk discusses ways in which these foreign practices are being modified within Chinese businesses.
Dr. Paul S. Hempel is from the City University of Hong Kong and is a specialist in Human Resource Management. Taught at Peking University and conducted training in China.
Current research has a focus on the management of teams within Chinese high technology companies examining both individual and team level creative performance.
