APU placed 1st in the "Universities now being noticed" and "Unique Appeal" sections and 8th overall in the Nikkei BP Consulting, Inc"2009 University Brand Image Survey (Kyushu, Okinawa, Yamaguchi area)"held in December 2008.
The survey targeted 55 major universities in the Kyushu-Okinawa-Yamaguchi area asked businessmen and women and parents with children higher than junior high school level 47 brand image questions relating to areas such as, "recognition", "level of contribution to regional industry" and “level of communications skills". The results were then ranked according to their university brand value.
APU came first in the areas regarding people's general image of the university such as, "Universities now being noticed", "Energetic", "Challenging Spirit", "Opening up a new age", ""Unique Appeal", "Actively accepting exchange students", "Active in global/international exchange", and also regarding people's image of the students such as, “Individuality" and "High level of communication skills".
