Sports Festival 2010 held at APU

Jun 3, 2010

On Wednesday, May 19, 2010, the 2010 Sports Festival was held at the APU "Wave" Amphitheatre and the Main Athletic Field by the APU Sports Festival Executive Committee.

Approximately 160 students participated in 15 different events that kicked-off at 13:00 including "Treasure Hunter" and "Mr. and Miss International APU". The "Wave" stage performances served up a treat to the new-entrants in the audience who got a glimpse into the sporting and performance traditions at APU.

Looking back on the event, Sports Festival Committee Delegate, FUKAGAWA Kenzo (APM2, Japan), spoke of his ambitions for the event next year, "We hope that this event will help the new entrants find something to supplement their academic studies. The key to the success of such an event lies in getting as many participants as possible. I hope that next year we can get more students from APU house and give the competition a real international feel".

Now in its 9th year, the APU Sports Festival aims to increase student exchange and interaction through sports and is organized primarily by second year students.
