High School Students from around the Globe Join Summer Camp at APU

From July 9 (Tue) to 20 (Sat), 2013, 18 high school students from the seven countries of India, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Nepal, Vietnam and Japan participated in the Academic and Cultural Experience (ACE) for High School Students at APU. ACE is a two-week summer program in which students learn about the cultures of Japan and Asia and think about international relations and peace.  

Aimed at high school students with an interest in Japanese culture, the program consists of Japanese language classes, a homestay in Bungotakada City, a bamboo crafts course and a tea ceremony class. The students experienced Japanese culture first-hand, participated in an exchange event with high school students from Oita City and took a peace studies course in Nagasaki City. The students appeared to enjoy APU and Japan for the duration of the program.
