Iizuka City, the Kyushu Institute of Technology, and APU Sign Collaboration Agreement

On January 30, 2024, APU held a signing ceremony for a collaboration agreement involving Iizuka City and the National University Corporation Kyushu Institute of Technology (hereinafter referred to as Kyushu Institute of Technology). Attending the ceremony were Mayor Masakazu Takei and Deputy Mayor Mina Fujie from Iizuka City, President Yasunori Mitani and Vice President Takuo Yasunaga from the Kyushu Institute of Technology, and President Hiroshi Yoneyama and Vice President Akito Asano from APU, who signed the agreement.

With this agreement, APU, known for its expertise in "developing global talent through multicultural environments and practices in Diversity and Inclusion (D&I)," the Kyushu Institute of Technology, with strengths in "engineering-centric fields such as satellite operation and robotics," and Iizuka City, strategically located in the heart of Fukuoka Prefecture with abundant natural resources, aim to collaborate in fostering global STEM talent and revitalizing the regional economy.

Key Areas of Collaboration:
1. Human resource development in universities and regions
2. Internationalization of universities and the region
3. Promotion of regional industry and economic revitalization
4. Industry-academia-government collaboration, social collaboration, and research exchange
5. Other matters necessary to achieve the objectives of this agreement

This collaboration represents a significant step towards APU students engaging in collaborative efforts with industry, academia, and government to address regional challenges, contributing to the improvement of the Kyushu region as a whole.
