From July 20 (Sat) to July 21 (Sun), the Japan Society for Southeast Asian Studies Special Symposium was jointly held with the Research Center for Muslim Affairs as one of the APU’s 20th Anniversary events. Presentations were conducted on a range of topics by 6 researchers.

On July 16 (Tue), MCSTAY Andy and BAKIR Vian, Professors of Bangor University, will give special talks entitled “What is Emotional AI?” and “Digital Disinformation & Emotional AI.”
On July 19 (Fri), Dr. URQUHART Lachlan, a Lecturer of Edinburgh University and Ms. MIRANDA Diana, a Lecturer of Keele University, will give special talks entitled “Regulating Smart Cities: AI & Urban Life” and “Policing the Future: Technology & Surveillance.”
