At APU, internships are offered as academic curriculum and can be registered as a course, provided a course registration application is submitted and all eligibility requirements are met.

Students who wish to register an internship as a course must:

  • Apply for course registration
  • Submit all required documents by the designated deadline
  • Attend both the pre-internship and post-internship class sessions
  • Fulfill additional course requirements as outlined in the Course Registration Handbook

The Handbook outlines the procedures, requirements and polices for students wishing to register internship experience as a course and earn credits.

Types of Internship Courses, Outline and Application Requirements

APU offers the following four internship courses. Please carefully review the outline and application requirements for each course before submitting course registration.

(Only for independently-arranged internships) For internship training over two semesters, final semester & one semester before the final semester are also not accepted for application.

・1st to 3rd semester
・1st semester students can apply., but if their GPA at the end of their 1st semester does not meet the requirements, their application will be rejected.
Enrollment status ・Students must have regular status during 1) the semester of application, 2) internship semester, and 3) following semester (course registration semester) (If you will be on academic leave, suspended, or on study abroad during any of 1) – 3), the students will not be eligible for course registration and will not be able to register for courses or receive grades. you cannot register courses.)
・If a suspended student’s period of suspension ends before their application, they may apply.

Class Schedule

Important Notes

  • Attendance is mandatory for all in-person pre and post internship classes. Absences are not permitted, so please be sure to attend all sessions.
  • All on demand Pre internship Classess must be completed before the start of the internship. Failure to complete these classes may affect course registration and/or credit approval.
  • Information regarding classroom locations, online meeting IDs, and on demand video URLs will be provided by the instructor via Moodle. Students are responsible for regularly checking Moodle to ensure they do not miss any important announcements.

AY 2026 Fall Semester Internship Class Schedule (Eligible for Course Registration and Academic Credit)

The class schedule is expected to be released in late October 2026.
Please note that the pre‑internship classes are scheduled to be conducted on Wednesdays or Saturdays in January 2027, and the post‑internship classes are scheduled to be conducted on a Wednesday in April 2027.
Students are required to review these schedules carefully and take them into consideration when registering for the course.
