The items on the Subject List & Course Outlines are explained below.

【Field】

This column shows which subject field the credits for each subject will count towards. The table below shows how each subject field is listed on the Subject List.

【Subject Name】

All subjects offered as part of the APM 2023 curriculum are listed. The subjects listed are not necessarily offered every semester.
For more details about which subjects will be offered, please refer to the syllabi and course timetable published each semester.

【Course Outline】

You can check which subject field the course credits will count toward.
*Please read and confirm the notes and warnings at the top of the subject list file.

【Credits】

The number of credits that can be earned by completing each course and receiving a passing grade.

【Semester】

The semester from which you can register for each course is determined in advance. You are able to register for the course from the semester indicated in this column.

Example: ”3rd Semester” is listed in the “Semester” column

  • Students in their 3rd semester and above can register for this course.
  • Students in their 1st or 2nd semester are not eligible to take this course.
【Course Number】

This number indicates the position of the subject within the curriculum and the curriculum’s overall organization.

Course Numbering

【Prerequisite Subjects for JST Students / JAT Students / E Students】

These are courses you have to earn credits for before you can register for the given subject.
Students who have not completed the prerequisite courses will not be able to register for the subject even if they are eligible to register for it that semester.
Please refer to the column for your own curriculum as the prerequisites vary depending on your enrollment language and English track.

【Re-registration Possible】

Normally, subjects cannot be retaken if you have already earned credits for that subject, but students can re-register for some subjects that can be taken more than once if the lecture content is different. Courses marked with a "〇" in this column may be taken more than once.

【P/F Evaluation】

Courses are usually graded on a 5-point scale of A+ / A / B / C / F, but some courses are graded on a P (Pass) and F (Fail) scale. Courses evaluated by P (Pass) and F (Fail) are called "P/F evaluation courses" and are labeled as "P/F".

【Course Registration Restrictions】

Some courses have specific requirements for registration.
If you do not meet the course requirements, it will not appear on Campusmate. These courses will only appear on Campusmate when registration is possible.

【Area of Study】

You can see which Area of Study the credits for each subject is counted towards. Credits will be counted toward the Area of Study marked with a "〇".

  • 1.Students who enrolled as new (1st-semester) students between AY 2011 and AY 2016.
  • 2.Students who enrolled as 2nd-year transfer students between AY 2011 and AY 2017.
  • 3.Students who enrolled as 3rd-year transfer students between AY 2011 and AY 2018.
  • 4.Students who originally enrolled before AY 2011, but as a result of reinstatement or readmission will be in the same semester as students in Group 1.

【Field】column

The “Field” column for a subject indicates the field to which the course credits will apply.

【Grade Level】column

Grade Level are shown below.
Each subject is numbered with a "Grade Level" of 100, 200, 300, or 400.
2nd year students may register for courses in the 100 and 200 level.

4th year students 400 level
【Prerequisite Subjects】column

If a listed course has prerequisite(s), you must earn credit for the “prerequisite course(s)” before you can register for the course itself.
“Prerequisite Courses” are courses for which you must earn credit before you can register for another course.
If the course you want to register has prerequisites, you have to earn credit for the prerequisites before you can register for the course in question.
※ In some cases, prerequisite courses may not be shown in the course list but instead may appear only in the syllabus under “Prerequisite Courses.”
You can still register for these courses before earning credit for the prerequisite(s). However, the course will be carried out based on the assumption that you have taken any listed prerequisite courses.
