Ceremony marks the opening of the APU Thailand Office

Jul 11, 2012

APU recently opened a new overseas office in Bangkok, Thailand, as a network base for local student recruitment and student and alumni support.

On Saturday, July 7, 2012, approximately 120 APU graduates, representatives of Japanese agencies and Thai higher education and business circles attended a ceremony held at the Grand Millennium Hotel to mark the opening of the new APU Thailand Office. A highlight of the ceremony came when APU graduate and vocalist for the popular Thai group Room39, VICHITRISADEE, Chutimon (Grad, spring’05), gave a special guest performance.

Approximately half of the APU student body is made up of international students, of which Thailand is the 4th highest nationality represented with 171 students currently on campus. In addition, over 300 Thai students have already graduated APU and begun active careers around the world.

The new Office will be utilized as a venue for local student recruitment and interaction between the University, students and parents, and also as a base for the development of a network with local universities and businesses to support further collaboration.

The Office is staffed with English-speaking Thai officers ready to help future international students realize their dream of studying in Japan.
