A new APU website has been developed to report on the latest information regarding fundraising activities for the Sumatra Earthquake and Tsunami victims.
All the donated money from the charity activities will go to the Japan Red Cross Foundation to help provide aid to the Sumatra Earthquake and Tsunami victims.
On the 3rd of January 2005, a group of APU student volunteers collected donations outside the Oita JR Station and the Oita Tokiwa Department Store. A total of 424,823 yen was raised and we greatly appreciate everyone's assistance and cooperation in helping to raise this amount.
APU student group, Tsunami relief committee, is going to hold a big charity event "Ai no Nami", at "Oita International House" at 3:00pm on January 15, 2005. The main purpose of this charity event is to raise funds for the victims in all tsunami affected countries around the Indian Ocean, and to show them that we care. There will be no entry charge for this event but we would really appreciate if you could contribute in some way that may brighten up the lives of the sufferers.
This event will undoubtedly include a feast of performances, combining traditional and modern cultures of different countries. You can expect an explosion of entertainment when people from different countries stand together to spread a wave of love that will transcend borders.
Please come and support this worthy cause!
