President KUROKAWA of the Science Council of Japan Gives Guest Lecture at APU

On Friday, December 2, 2005 Professor KUROKAWA, President of the Science Council of Japan gave a guest lecture at APU in room F 202. In 1997, Professor KUROKAWA was named Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo, and in 2003 he became the President of the Science Council of Japan. He is considered the foremost scientist in all of Japan.

Professor KUROKAWA gave an impassioned 80-minute lecture entitled "Challenges and Opportunities of Asia-Pacific" and kindly took students' questions after his speech.

Over 250 participants including APU students and local citizens packed the room to hear the President’s lecture. It even ran 15 minutes over schedule with an enthusiastic exchange between the participants and Professor KUROKAWA at the end of the session.
