What is Break the Cycle?
Break the Cycle aims to raise awareness about teenage pregnancy issues among 125 teenage girls attending two community schools in Liberia. We have devised a comprehensive approach to addressing this issue, including sex education on pregnancy, self-development workshops focusing on "meaningful living," extracurricular activities, and will implement the program with the cooperation of Liberian schools and teachers.
Specifically, in February, APU students plan to conduct workshops in Liberian middle schools through a hybrid format of in-person and online sessions. In the following months, we will work with local collaborators to provide follow-up support to students who participated in the workshops and approach students who were unable to attend.
