This year's theme is "Bloom."
At APU, students from diverse cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of values come together to learn and grow. The theme "Bloom" expresses the hope that each person's unique individuality and potential will become a bud, and that these buds will come together to make the Tenku Festival blossom into a beautiful flower. It also reflects our vision of people flourishing as individuals while connecting with one another, creating a world that comes together as one beautiful bouquet.

* Performance and exhibition times will be announced in the event program, available in late October on the Tenku Festival Executive Committee Instagram and the APU website.
The popular Lantern Festival returns this year. Due to unfavorable weather conditions, we were unfortunately unable to fully carry out the lantern launch last year. With that experience in mind, we have put even more care and effort into this year's event. Enjoy a magical evening filled with glowing lanterns and music, as countless lanterns rise into the night sky to create a truly unforgettable scene.
As the highlight of the first day's evening festivities, a special projection show will bring the night to life. Combining light and visual effects, this immersive performance will create a magical atmosphere and provide a memorable finale to the Tenku Festival's evening celebration.
Experience Kagura, a traditional Japanese performing art that has been passed down through generations as a sacred ritual performance. Through dynamic dances and powerful musical performances, audiences will experience the rich history and cultural heritage of Oita. This special performance is made possible by APU's unique multicultural environment, where diverse cultures come together. Discover the traditions of Oita and enjoy a captivating Kagura performance that bridges local heritage and global audiences.
Join a special guided tour of the APU campus, where students from more than 120 countries and regions come together to learn and grow. One of APU’s signature events, Multicultural Week, comes to the Tenku Festival with cultural groups from around the world gathering for a special parade. Showcasing the unique traditions and attractions of their countries and regions, this vibrant celebration of cultural diversity will make you feel as though you are traveling around the world. Come and experience the excitement of this multicultural festival!
Experience this year’s theme, “Bloom,” through our special stamp rally. Explore different locations across campus, collect stamps, and create your own unique bouquet. This family-friendly activity offers a fun way for visitors of all ages to discover the many attractions of the Tenku Festival while experiencing this year’s theme, “Bloom.”
It's back by popular demand! Experience a relaxing sauna with breathtaking views from the APU campus. Surrounded by fresh mountain air and overlooking the panoramic scenery of Beppu Bay, this unique setting offers the perfect opportunity to unwind and refresh both body and mind. After the sauna, cool down outdoors and enjoy a moment of complete relaxation while taking in the stunning natural surroundings.
