On Wednesday, July 20, 2011, Iwata Gakuen Secondary School students taking part in the Iwata Gakuen/APU Course presented the results of their studies on the program at a presentation ceremony in front of an audience of parents, guardians, APU faculty, and APU student learning-assistants.
A cooperation agreement was concluded between Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University and the Iwata Academy in May 2007 which resulted in the establishment of the APU Ritsumeikan Course in April 2008. As part of the course, APU faculty members and Teaching Assistants (TA) travel to the Iwata Academy every Wednesday and hold regular classes focusing on language, international society and international problems. The program aims to provide students with practical education with a view towards specialist study at the university level.
Eighteen year-one students and twelve year-two students delivered presentations based on their research findings on a range of topics including the state of narcotics around the world and student life at their secondary school.
