The Confucius Institute was established at APU in April 2007 as part of an initiative by the Chinese government to establish facilities around the world to promote Chinese language and culture. The Confucius Institute at APU is the first of its kind in Kyushu and offers a variety of interesting initiatives including Chinese language classes open to the general public.
