What is Project Gifted?
Project Gifted spreads awareness of the waste and destructive aspects of the textile industry, especially fast fashion, and encourages “Responsible Consumption” in line with Goal 12 of the SDGs. Specifically, the group gathers unwanted, unused clothing from APU students and Beppu residents to donate them to a charity in Zimbabwe for those who need them. The group is planning to collect clothing from various places on and off campus. They also plan to host events to encourage everyone at APU to think about Responsible Consumption. The group was started by 3 lively and bright students of various nationalities. They will continue to develop various activities to engage with Beppu citizens and the APU community!
