From June 12th to July 14th, APU held the cultural event, "Multicultural Week" for five consecutive weeks. This unique event, exclusive to APU, brings together students from over 100 countries and regions. During this event, students shine a spotlight on a single country or region, introducing its charm to the campus community over the course of a week. Due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the event couldn't be run as usual for the past couple years, but it resumed with a modified hybrid schedule starting last fall. Finally, this summer it was held consecutively in its former glory, and the campus has fully regained the vibrancy it had before the pandemic.
The weeks held this summer included Thai Week, Bangladesh Week, Vietnam Week, Oceania Week, and Chinese Week. Throughout each week, various aspects of each country's culture, such as music, clothing, dance, sports, language, and cuisine, were showcased.
Multicultural Week is entirely organized by students, from recruiting participants to planning, execution, and fundraising. Some students participate in organizing the week dedicated to their home country, while others, regardless of their nationality, get involved in organizing the week for a country they have an affinity for. It is an event where diverse students come together as one, embodying the spirit of diversity and inclusion at APU.
