You might feel a bit nervous at first, but I recommend stepping out of your room and talking to someone. I made many friends simply by starting conversations with people while cooking in the kitchen.

RA events (I always get to have fun with other residents who I normally would not have that much chance to interact with the most during RA events.)
What was the most fun or unforgettable memory from your time in AP House?
It was first Spring Semester building event where I was nervous to make new friends in a new environment that I had just joined, yet I was able to become friends with my floormates that I have been close to and spent time together with until now.

When you’re tired but you feel like it would be a waste to not join an event, just join it!
Best Floor Award

E1 (ICHI)
In your opinion, what was the key factor that led your floor to win the award this time?
I was able to build a good relationship with the AP House residents. By allowing them a certain degree of freedom, I created an environment where they could relax and pursue what they wanted to do.
What was the most fun or unforgettable memory you have from your floor?
We made a cake for my friend’s birthday and celebrated with them.
What was trending or popular on your floor? (e.g., a game, food, etc.)
Cooking, watching movies, and so on. Many of the dorm residents spent time in the kitchen.
Please give us a “catchy phrase” or a “slogan” for your floor.
Brotherhood Floor
RⅡ2 (HAN, MISAKI)
In your opinion, what was the key factor that led your floor to win the award this time?
(HAN) I think the biggest factor was how residents naturally looked out for one another. They were considerate in shared spaces, communicated openly, and made an effort to keep the floor comfortable for everyone.
(MISAKI) I believe the key factor was our enthusiastic residents. They were always cleaning without being told, reminding each other, and doing all of this while still having fun. We didn’t want to create a restrictive environment, so everything happened naturally and it was all by the residents’ own energy.
What was the most fun or unforgettable memory you have from your floor?
(HAN) Playing games together during floor events was the most memorable part. It felt like real bonding time, and everyone could just relax and enjoy being together.
(MISAKI) Personally the floor event was memorable since most of the residents came and we played bingo, talk, eat, and see everyone enjoy and make new friendships.
What was trending or popular on your floor? (e.g., a game, food, etc.)
(HAN) Girls playing the ukulele and guitar together has become a popular and relaxing part of our floor.
(MISAKI) I know that many of my residents are really talented so there is always a new topic, however I notice a lot that they play the guitar and sing.
Please give us a “catchy phrase” or a “slogan” for your floor.
RII2 - just me and you
C (SAIMA, YOULIE)
In your opinion, what was the key factor that led your floor to win the award this time?
(SAIMA) I think it was the active participation of residents in Ap house living learning program, attending building and floor events, floor meetings regularly.
(YOULIE) I think it was becoming close with my RA partner, almost like family.
What was the most fun or unforgettable memory you have from your floor?
(SAIMA) For me, the most memorable memory would be our second floor event. We had 100% attendance and I could also cook Bangladeshi biriyani for my residents, share the culture of my country to them. And the best part was they also enjoyed the event a lot!
(YOULIE) It was when everyone on the floor had dinner together. At that moment, I felt the joy and power of collaboration. By supporting each other in areas where partners couldn’t manage alone, we were able to create an event for the dorm residents, which became a truly wonderful memory for me.
What was trending or popular on your floor? (e.g., a game, food, etc.)
(SAIMA) In our floor, movie nights are very popular. As there are sofa and couches in front of the TV, residents often do movie nights with each other or friends from another floor. Me and Youlie also do movie nights together sometimes. It’s really nice and cozy.
(YOULIE) Just relaxing on the sofa in front of the TV.
Please give us a “catchy phrase” or a “slogan” for your floor.
(SAIMA) “Charming and cool girls”
(YOULIE) The beautiful and peaceful girls’ floor.
