1. Moving-in schedule

For students residing in Japan (domestic students and international students residing in Japan)

Items needed when moving in

  • ID (health insurance card or passport)
  • Daily necessities
    Toiletries, clothing, footwear (outdoor and indoor), towels, clothes hangers, cooking utensils (if you plan to cook), laundry equipment (laundry detergent is available), thermometer, first-aid kit (home medication [such as cold medicines, fever reducers, and pain relievers], band-aids, wet compresses, etc.)
  • * Information regarding AP House assignments will be announced via email approximately three days before the moving-in date. There are AP House 1 to 5.
  • * Residents will be informed of their room number on the day they move in. Please note that room numbers cannot be provided earlier. Students who plan to register their address in Beppu city from other Japanese city should complete the AP House moving-in procedures before completing other procedures required of new residents at Beppu City Hall.

Moving-in date registration

Please register your moving-in date here by Wednesday, August 23 at 9:00 a.m. (Japan Standard Time).
The information provided in the registration survey will be used to prepare to welcome new students to the dormitory, etc.

* If you wish to change your moving-in date after registering, please resubmit the registration survey.

** Domestic students are asked to complete the procedures to withdraw AP House fees from their bank accounts by their moving-in date.

2. Health Care Requests before moving into AP House

Prior to moving in, students are asked to refrain from behaviors and actions that will increase their risk of infection. In addition, students who are scheduled to move into AP House should carefully monitor their health  leading up to the moving-in date, so they are healthy on the day in question.
Students who have a fever or feel unwell, should visit a nearby medical facility or contact the APU Health Clinic at booking@apu.ac.jp.

Students who have a fever or feel unwell are asked to postpone their moving-in date, and move into AP House after they have fully recovered.
Students who are found to have a fever or appear to be unwell on the moving-in date, may not be allowed to enter the dormitory and may be sent home.
Students who are a close contact of someone with infections are also asked to postpone their moving-in date.

3. Shipping luggage

Students residing in Japan

Students are asked to have their luggage arrive after they move into AP House at a date and time they can receive it from the carrier directly.
In case you receive a luggage after moving-in, please indicate your room number as well

4. Parents, guardians, or other individuals accompanying residents may not enter AP House

Parents, guardians, and other individuals accompanying residents are welcome to come by car on the premises and help unload luggage, but are prohibited from entering AP House at this time. The University asks for everyone’s understanding and cooperation.

5. Other

Orientations for fall 2023 new enrollees are scheduled to start from Thursday, September 21.
All students are asked to complete the moving-in procedures by September 20.
