A Special Symposium on APU's Tourism Human Resource Development Project titled, "Creating the Future of Regional Tourism – Fostering Talent for the Next Generation" was held at Beppu B-con Plaza on Friday, March 10.APU's "Tourism Human Resource Development Project" was commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as part of its "AY2005 Power Supply Regional Service Human Resource Development Business." The Special Symposium was held for people who will have major roles in the future of the tourism and service industry including the accommodation sector.
Mr. TOYODA Masakazu, Director-General of the Commerce and Information Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Mr. TOYOTA Masakazu commenced the first-half of the Symposium with a keynote address on "Promoting the Hospitality Industry." Afterwards, the President of the All Japan Ryokan Association, Mr. KOHARA Kenji gave a presentation on "Creating a Tourism-Orientation Nation."
A panel discussion on the theme of "Creating the Future of Tourism in Kyushu – Regions and Business / Developing Human Resources" took place in the second-half of the Symposium. The participants listened attentively to the animated exchange of ideas.
