Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Domestic Student Tuition Reduction Scholarship (For those who are ineligible for the JASSO Grant-Type Scholarship)
The Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Domestic Student Tuition Reduction Scholarship is an original APU scholarship that would reduce the tuition amount the student needs to pay to half of the tuition amount.
The information below is for students who are ineligible for the New System for Higher Education Aid (hereinafter referred to as the JASSO Grant-Type Scholarship) because of their visa status or the amount of time between their graduation from high school and university enrollment*. The information below does not apply to students who are ineligible for the JASSO Grant-Type Scholarship because they do not satisfy the selection criteria due to family finances, etc.

1. Eligibility Requirements
Domestic students who satisfy the financial aid and academic criteria. (Refer to the Application Guidelines for details.)
* Students selected for this scholarship will undergo an annual Assessment for Continuation to check that they satisfy the financial aid and academic criteria. Your scholarship will be suspended or revoked if you are found to no longer satisfy the criteria.

3. Tuition Reduction Method / Timing
- You must first pay the full tuition amount the semester you apply. The university will refund the reduction amount later (Spring Semester applicants: in mid-October / Fall Semester applicants: in mid-February). You will receive a tuition invoice that reflects the tuition reduction amount from the following semester.
- If your Tuition Reduction Scholarship is suspended or revoked as a result of the Assessment for Continuation after the tuition payment deadline, you may be required to pay back the tuition reduction amount. The payment deadline will depend on when your scholarship was suspended or revoked.
