A feature that makes APU stand out from other Japanese universities is our flexible entrance and graduation system that allows students to graduate in either the fall or spring. This September we will hold our Fall Graduation Ceremony for 2012. On this day of celebration and congratulation, approximately 500 students will mark the end of their time at APU and also the start of a new and exciting chapter in their lives - starting a new career, pursuing further study, volunteering overseas, or much more. APU graduation ceremonies are always a uniquely multicultural event bringing together students, parents and well-wishers from all over Japan and the around the world to Beppu in a colorful display of graduation gowns, Japanese kimono, and other traditional costumes. 2012 will be no exception.
Almost 50% of APU students are international and have travelled to Beppu from all the four corners of the earth. For many parents and caregivers of international students, travelling to Japan to attend the ceremony is just not practical. To ensure that no one misses out on witnessing their daughter or son graduate, since 2011 APU has been Ustreaming live footage of this and other events on the internet.
Be sure to join us recognize the achievements and hard work of our soon-to-be-graduates, either in-person or online.
