On April 18, 2025, APU and the Tomeikan Academy (hereafter referred to as “Tomeikan”) held a signing ceremony for a partnership agreement. Attending the ceremony from Tomeikan were Chairman and Principal Genki Jinno, Administrative Director and Assistant to the Chairman Hiroshi Kanazawa, and Director of the International Education Center and International House Yoshihiko Matsumoto, and APU was represented by President Hiroshi Yoneyama and Dean of Admissions Hiroto Sato. Chairman Jinno and President Yoneyama signed the agreement.
Additionally, 20 students from Tomeikan High School and current APU students who graduated from Tomeikan High School participated in the ceremony.
Chairman Jinno expressed his hope that students will grow into global talents needed in modern society through this agreement, while President Yoneyama shared a message encouraging students to practice the "I do" philosophy advocated by Tomeikan at APU and to embark on their journey as individuals who will change the world.
Under the APU 2030 Vision, which declares that "APU Graduates possess the power to change our world," APU is working to create a new regional development model that integrates government, academia, and the private sector, with the university playing a central role. By collaborating with high schools, APU aims to nurture individuals who will change the world by leveraging the multicultural environment where students from 110 countries and regions study together and by engaging in initiatives in partnership with APU faculty from 27 countries and regions.
