We will hold several mandatory new student orientation sessions to ensure a smooth preparation for enrollment.
Required on-demand videos are uploaded on Moodle. Please make sure to watch all videos during the orientation period. Moodle also contains useful materials for student life, such as campus maps and information on bus passes.
1. Preparation for orientation
〈Issuance of APU Account (ID) and Password〉
You will need your APU account login details (APU user ID and password) to access all of APU’s systems, including your APU email, the university’s online noticeboard (Campus Terminal), Zoom, and for online course registration.
APU account user ID and password will be informed through the “Enrollment Procedures System” on the evening of September 9.
New Graduate Students:
You can confirm your APU account user ID, password, and student ID number in the "Enrollment Procedures System".

Prepare for the Academic Writing Training
Attending the Academic Writing Training before beginning your studies is mandatory. The training aims to enhance your academic writing skills and provide knowledge and techniques necessary for completing a large research project (e.g. a thesis, dissertation, report, or case study). You will be sent preliminary readings and assignments for this training to the email address used for the Enrollment Procedures System, so please make sure that you check your email for a link to the materials.
2. On-demand guidance videos
Please login to Moodle and watch every guidance video within the period of orientation. Before using the Information Environment (IT services), be sure to read the “BEGINNER'S GUIDE for Students” as well. Additionally, please refer to the IT Support webpage for information on how to use Moodle and setting up Multi-Factor Authentication. In addition to the guidance videos, Moodle also contains many useful materials for student life such as the campus maps and bus pass information, so please be sure to take a look through the site.
3. Orientation schedule
Orientation guidance sessions will be held at the designated dates and times below. Please read the explanations for each guidance session carefully and check the materials you are required to prepare before the guidance session.

Unless an event is explicitly noted as voluntary, all orientation sessions are mandatory, so be sure to include them in your schedule!

Tours will depart in the order participants arrive and the last tour departs at 15:30. It is recommended that you purchase an Oita Kotsu Triple Ticket at the CO-OP Shop (prepaid transportation IC cards are also accepted). Event details can be found at the social media accounts below.

International students will register their address, enroll in Japan's National Health Insurance system, fill out local tax declaration forms and bank account application paperwork. All students (including those who do not live in the AP House, or students who have been living in Japan before enrolling at APU) MUST attend.
You will need Japan Post Bank (Yucho Bank) account to receive scholarship, pay tuition fee, as well as to make any other transactions for your everyday life such as receiving your part time job payment and paying for electricity bills, etc.
