JETRO Chairman Mr. ISHIGE Hiroyuki visits APU

On Friday, February 21, 2014, Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Mr. ISHIGE Hiroyuki and his entourage visited APU and enjoyed a discussion with APU President KORENAGA Shun. Guided by students Mr. ISHIGE was then given a tour of the APU campus, cafeteria and AP House dormitory. Chairman ISHIGE showed a particular interest in the ethnic and halal foods offered at the cafeteria and the various places around campus that see domestic and international students working together as student staff.

In 2013, JETRO sent two APU students on an internship to India for several months in conjunction with The Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA). The local JETRO office in Oita also takes on a number of APU interns for a set period every year. There is currently one APU graduate employed at JETRO.
