Saturday, November 26, APU and Japanese tech company Groovenauts jointly sponsored an event with the theme of "Learn. Make. Work." at Tech Park Makers, the Groovenauts headquarters in Fukuoka. The event also enjoyed the cooperation of Mr. ITOI Shigesato, famous copy writer and the creator and editor-in-chief of the popular blog "Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun" ('Almost' Daily Itoi News).

Groovenauts is a tech startup working with cutting-edge technology in the smart device and big data arenas, offering platforms for games, automobiles, and the "internet of things". Groovenauts Chairwoman SASAKI Kumiko and APU Vice President IMAMURA Masaharu engaged in a thoughtful discussion throughout the event.

Main points of the talk addressed a variety of questions: With the internet and technology evolving so quickly now, what will become of society and the world in the future? What will become of society? What will we learn? What kind of work will we do? How will we live?

At first glance, these three individuals did not appear to have much in common, but they share a drive to meet the challenges of a new era. Especially now with society changing at a dizzying pace, they seemed to agree, we should take another look at the direction society is taking. Even as the times are changing, this is an opportunity to reflect on our values.

The audience listened intently to the discussion, occasionally taking notes. With questions and other topics from the audience for the three speakers, the venue was full of laughter and enthusiasm, and the event extended into overtime for an hour, wrapping up at around the two hour mark.
