Asmae Bahassou (College of International Management 2nd year) from Morocco has started her internship as a Global Business Producer at "Q," a coworking space that opened in Hakata Station on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Q is the first facility opened by JR Kyushu as a glocal gateway.

This internship program is part of a practical industry-academia collaboration project based on an agreement signed in April 2019 between APU and the Kyushu Economic Federation, an association of companies in Kyushu.

Prior to the opening, a press-only preview was held on Tuesday, June 29. Here, Takuma Matsushita, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of the Development Department of the Business Development Division of JR Kyushu, said, "We want to make this a crossroads in the middle of Hakata, a place where people can gather to promote their businesses in the Hakata and to the world.”

Next it was Asmae who took the stage. After saying "Hello" in her native language, she told the press in Japanese, "I want to learn by seeing how ideas are born and realized here. I also want to do my best in this internship to support people and companies who are trying to go global.”

Asmae plans on networking with coworking spaces overseas during her time at this internship, which will last until March 30, 2020.
