We are delighted to share that Professor Pengda Fan (APM) was awarded a Plutus Consulting Research Excellence Award (Best Paper Award) at the JFA-PBFJ Special Issue Conference, which was held on March 14-15, 2022. This conference was held by the Japan Financial Association, in collaboration with Pacific-Basin Finance Journal and Faculty of Economics, Kyushu University. The theme of this year’s conference was the “Japanese Financial Market”, with the conference aiming to allow researchers to contribute to our understanding of one of the largest financial markets in the world.
The paper, entitled “Does Gender Diversity Matter? Female Directors and Firm Carbon Emissions in Japan” was written and submitted to the conference by Professor Fan, together with co-authors from Sophia University and The University of Technology Sydney/Shanghai University, respectively.

Reflecting on his award, Professor Fan remarked, " I am very honored to receive this award, and this will become the motivation for me to work harder in the future as a researcher. While the contribution of this paper is quite limited, I am also very happy that my research can give back to society.”
