On April 4, 2022, Yusuke Kano (College of Asia Pacific Management Class of 2010) gave a lecture for "Session with graduates who will change the world," a part of the online orientation for new students of the spring semester. Kano is currently the representative director of Welmo Inc., which has more than 170 employees. He is also the representative director of the Japan Care Tech Association, a lecturer at the central government office, and a joint researcher at the University of Tokyo.

Kano talked about his own experience after graduating from APU. While working at an IT company, he began to feel a sense of duty “to benefit society," which led to him starting a business in the field of long-term care and welfare. He described the seriousness of the challenges of Japanese society, where the birthrate is declining and the population is aging, as well as introduced the company's efforts to solve these issues. Regarding his own school life, he said, "I've done everything," and encouraged the students, saying, "Don't be afraid to make mistakes and do everything you have interest in."

In the question-and-answer session, in response to Kano's spirit of "doing for others," the current students asked, "How can I balance doing things for the sake of others and for myself?" Kano advised "To make people happy, first of all, take it easy, and enrich your own heart to make room for others."
