On Thursday, September 15, 2022, a presentation was held at APU in which students explained to the press their plan for the industry-academia collaboration event, "Multicultural Festival in Suginoi Hotel.”

On the day of the event, the students were in charge of making preparations, chairing the event, and introducing the project in their own words as part of their practical learning experience. Mami Shimizu (College of International Management, 3rd year), who made the presentation, looked back on the planning process and said, "I was able to learn about a new world by taking lectures from people who are active as professionals. I was able to learn about real business.”

In December of 2021, ORIX Real Estate Corporation(ORE), Suginoi Hotels & Resorts Co., Ltd., and APU signed a friendship exchange agreement to develop human resources who will contribute to the future of the tourism industry and the creation of regional value for the purpose of regional revitalization. As part of this agreement, APU students worked with the Beppu Onsen Suginoi Hotel employees to create an event for guests at the Beppu Onsen Suginoi Hotel.

The event will be held under the concept of "Festival of Light and the World." Guests staying at the Beppu Onsen Suginoi Hotel will be able to enjoy international performances and other activities provided by APU students.
