Ambassador of Indonesia to Japan Visits APU

On November 1, 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Dr. Heri Akhmadi of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Japan visited the APU campus, met with faculty members and students, and watched the Indonesian Week parade. This visit was made possible by the invitation of the ambassadors by the Student Executive Committee and others on the occasion of Indonesian Week, which was held for the first time in three years due to the pandemic.

In the discussion, from APU, President Deguchi, Vice President Akito Asano, Dean of the College of Asia Pacific Studies, Yoichiro Sato, Director of Admissions, Kaoru Natsuda, Associate Professor of the Center for Educational Development and Learning Support, Dahlan Nariman, and students from Indonesia participated and discussed with the ambassador how to strengthen cooperation in the future.

APU has welcomed many ambassadors to the campus. Among the Multicultural Weeks, events that introduces the cultures and languages of campus, Indonesia Week among the most popular with its full-fledged performances, which is thanks to the generous support and kind advice from the Indonesian Embassy in Japan. There are currently 403 Indonesian students enrolled at APU, including 18 graduate students. For the students, interacting with the ambassadors of their home country and the embassy staff was an irreplaceable experience.
