On December 16, 2023, Ambassador E. Rodney M. Perera, from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan, visited APU. On that day, Vice President Yoneyama, Professor NISHANTHA Giguruwa from the College of Sustainability and Tourism, student recruitment staff, and Sri Lankan students welcomed Ambassador Perera and discussed Sri Lankan students’ activities and other matters.

Currently, APU has 38 undergraduate students and 10 graduate students from Sri Lanka enrolled for the Fall Semester of 2023.
Following the discussion, the ambassador also had the opportunity to meet with the Sri Lankan community residing in Oita.
