The 22nd Yellow Sea Rim Economic and Technical Exchange Conference, hosted by the Kyushu International Business Promotion Organization, the Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Kyushu Economic Federation, was held at APU Millennium Hall on November 13-14, 2024. This conference, which has been held annually since 2001, serves as a platform for regional cooperation, bringing together governments, local authorities, economic organizations, and enterprises from Kyushu, South Korea, and China. Under the theme of "Building a Sustainable Yellow Sea Rim Economic Zone," the conference focused on two key areas: carbon neutrality and highly skilled foreign professionals. Numerous delegations from Japan, China, and South Korea participated in various programs. Representatives from government, academia, and industry in Japan, China, and South Korea presented the latest trends in their respective fields.

At the Business Forum held on November 13th, Vice President Asano presented on "The Current State and Challenges of Attracting and Retaining Highly Skilled Foreign Professionals from a University Perspective." Sakura Kisu, a member of the Student Summit, spoke on the topic of "A Learning Environment with Diverse Normalities."

President Yoneyama gave a presentation titled "Toward the Retention of Highly Skilled Foreign Professionals" at the main session of the Yellow Sea Rim Conference on November 14th.

A signing ceremony was held on November 14th at APU to mark the conclusion of a cooperation agreement between APU and the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS).
Shuji Zushi, Deputy Secretary-General of the TCS, and APU President Hiroshi Yoneyama were present at the ceremony and signed the agreement. The TCS is an intergovernmental international organization established to promote peace and prosperity in the three countries of Japan, China, and South Korea. Based on an agreement signed and ratified by the governments of the three countries, the TCS began its operations in Seoul, South Korea, in September 2011. Under this cooperation agreement, the two parties will discuss the implementation of joint projects by students from Japan, China, and South Korea, the co-organization of seminars and symposiums, mutual exchanges of young people working to solve regional issues, and student participation in TCS-organized events and programs.
