On Wednesday, May 20, 2015, 10 APU international students were appointed as international exchange support advisors to the city of Saiki at a certificate presentation ceremony held by the city's board of education at the Saiki Educational Civic Hall.
The students appointed as international exchange advisors will visit Saiki elementary schools several times a year to support international education and introduce foreign cultures through activities such as games and songs to improve the children's communication skills. The ceremony was attended by Saiki City Board of Education Director BUNDO Takashi , guests from the Saiki elementary schools that the advisors will be visiting, as well as APU Vice-President IMAMURA Masaharu and university staff
After the ceremony, the International Exchange Support Advisors changed venues to Umeryokuho Elementary School to participate in a workshop on cultural exchanges with children and to receive advisor training.
The Saiki City International Exchange Advisor initiative is now in its twelfth year. To date, 123 APU international students have participated in exchange activities as International Exchange Support Advisors to the city.
