APU's Vice President Kenji Yokoyama was appointed president of the Association of Asia Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS) at the association's 2018 Annual Conference, which took place November 18-29 in Sydney, Australia. Vice President Yokoyama was appointed to the position of president after serving a term as vice-president. He will serve in this position for two years, followed by a two year term as past president, advising the next president.
AAPBS is an association of 150 of the top business schools in the Asia Pacific region. The association contributes to the development of member schools and to the expansion of high quality business education in the Asia Pacific region. AAPBS is identified as one of the three major business school organizations internationally; the others being AACSB in the US, and EFMD in the EU. The three societies maintain close relationships with each other, with the aim of advancing the growth of business education worldwide.
During the Annual Conference, AAPBS resolved that the association's 2019 academic conference will be held at APU in May 2019.
