The university's application to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for the establishment of the College of Sustainability and Tourism as well as its application to increase admission capacity have been approved.

Message from President Haruaki Deguchi:

The establishment of the new College of Sustainability and Tourism in April 2023 as well as the expansion of the 3 colleges, including the 2 existing ones, have been officially approved by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

With this, APU and its three colleges will take a new shape and evolve. This New APU is a challenge for our university that goes beyond the meaning of adding one more college.

The College of Sustainability and Tourism is a completely new college that combines sustainability and tourism.

As you all know, sustainability, the future of the global environment, is currently the most important issue for humanity and its future.

Also, though the tourism industry has taken a temporary hit these past few years due to the world-wide pandemic, it remains one of the largest industries of the 21st century and is expected to grow significantly in the future.

I am convinced that this new college that combines sustainability and tourism will meet the demands of our earth, our time, and our international society.

Everyone, please continue to support us as we reach higher with a New APU.
